We have been busy learning about doubles to ten in Mathematics. The children are beginning to use their knowledge of doubles to complete other problems, for example doubles plus one. This is a strategy that they can use to work more efficiently in Mathematics. An example is below.
Double plus one 4+5=9
You may like to ask your child what doubles they know and revisit doubles plus one at home.
This Friday is Walk Safely to School Day. A note was sent home last week regarding how Year One will be encouraging participation on the day by having a 'Walking Bus'. If you would like your child to join our 'Walking Bus' on Friday morning, please ensure they are at the designated area by 8am sharp to allow both classes to arrive at school at 8:15am (please refer to the note for specific details). Please keep in mind that this is not compulsory.
Enjoy your week everyone!
